St. John Parish Recreation Department Summer Youth Program The Recreation Department is again sponsoring its annual Summer Youth Program for youths of the parish. All youths ages 5 to 12 years are eligible to register. The goal of the program is to provide supervised activities for the children of the parish at a minimum fee to allow each child who registers to be exposed to areas of organized/supervised physical exersises with games, basic sports, creative individualized projects, arts and crafts (designed for each age level), and supervised swimming by accredited Life Guards employed by the department. Also included are field excursions, planned by the Recreation Department (DATE AND DESTINATION AT THE DISCRESION OF THE RECREATION DEPARMENT-- AMPLE NOTICE GIVEN TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS FOR FEES), to enhance the program's total needs of its participants for recreational enjoyment. All of the above outlined activities WILL be supervised by certified educators {COUNSELORS} of the parish and selected assistants {AIDES} of the JTPA program.The program will begin on Tuesday, June 10th and end on Friday, August 1st, 1997. The fee for the duration is $25 per child (NO FAMILY RATES AVAILABLE). The above description of the Youth Program will extend for eight (8) weeks with established holidays observed.
