A Historical Plaque was placed on side of the St. John Cultural and Civic Center Theatre. His family was there to attend the dedication; from left to right, L. J. Maurin Jr., Maraise Maurin Montz, Joseph LeBrun Maurin, Jo Anne Maurin Montz, Gloria Maurin Oubre, Elaine Maurin Delauneville, and Johnny McTopy standing in for Marjorie Maurin McTopy who was ill. Louis Joseph Maurin kept a large scrapbook of his endeavors and accomplishments. It amounts to his personal diary. All of the information on these pages came from various newspaper articles, personal documents and photos from this scrapbook.
